She is the writer/director/producer of three short films, one which premiered at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival Short Film Corner (WHEN BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE DO UGLY THINGS), and produced the short film, COMMITMENT, which was presented at the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival. THE COALITION is the first feature film she has directed, which was co-written with her producing partner, Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens. Ms. Mingo is a Louisiana native and worked in corporate America before pursuing her dream of becoming a writer and filmmaker.
At age 37, she enrolled in a film school local to Washington, DC to learn the business of making movies. While there, she recognized that, although she loved knowing the basics of camera technology and lighting techniques, she had a strong desire to write and direct. Ms. Mingo is a cancer survivor, a wife and the guardian of two Boxer doggies. She currently lives with her husband in the DC Metro area.
